Resin 3D printer manufacturer, Phrozen Make has stepped into FDM printing with the new Phrozen Arco 3D Printer, which has already destroyed its Kickstarter goal of $10,000 – hitting $1.5 million in 3 days.
Phrozen Arco 3D Printer
The Phrozen Arco 3D Printer is a Core-XY machine with a build volume of 300x300x300mm and a 600 mm/s print speed. The printer features an heated bed that can hit 120 degrees celcius, uses patented auto bed leveling tech, runs on Klipper, and allows for multi-color printing.
Chroma Kit
Alongside the new Core-XY printer, the company is also showing off its AMS system, Chroma Kit. It allows for up to four spools to be used in a single print with sensors to detect when the filament runs out and which is currently in use.
An intersting feature not found on the Bambu Lab AMS, is Chrome Kit’s ability to print dual materials, with the example being PLA and PETG. It also automatically switches to a new spool of the same filament when the first runs out and comes with desiccant.
To be able to use all the features of the Chroma Kit and the 3D printer, you will need to use the company’s PIXUP FMD slicer.
Pricing and availability
As this is a Kickstarter project there are obviously discounts involved. Prozen Make is offering the first 2500 units at 50% off, with the lowest tier being $649 and two printers being $1,233. If you want to get the printer and the Chrome Kit you can do so for $869.
