After a successful launch in North America, Framework has now opened pre-orders for its repairable-friendly Framework laptop in the UK, Germany, and France.

Framework first shared that its move into Europe will happen before the end of the year as long as no issues were faced in the process. And by the looks of things everything has gone to plan!

Those living in the UK, Germany, or France can now pre-order the Framework Laptop in all editions, i5-1135G7, i7-1165G7, and i7-1185G7, with a fully refundable £100 or €100 deposit. The orders will then be placed into a batch system like they currently are and go out in order of who pre-ordered first.

The first batch of European units are expected to ship in February 2022 as there are still a few adjustments that need to be made to localise the laptops to these countries, such as the keyboards and power adapters.

Wi-Fi card update

Due to issues people have had with installing the Wi-Fi cards and specifically connecting the tiny antenna cables, Framework will pre-install AX210 Wi-Fi 6E cards on the DIY Edition “to save your time and sanity,” a nice touch to make everyone’s experience a little better. This change will also be coming to North American (USA and CA) orders in the future.

Logistics update

All orders will be shipped from Framework’s warehousing partner in Taoyuan, Taiwan, which happens to be a short drive from the final assembly location to mitigate some of the global logistics meltdown. As mentioned earlier, all these shipments are carbon offset.
